Studies show that when mixed with its cis-isomer (Z9-12:OAc) at an 8:2 ratio, it forms a highly effective binary pheromone system, demonstrating strong activity in field electroantennogram and moth-trapping tests. This blend disrupts male orientation to females, significantly reducing mating rates. It has been successfully applied in green control methods, such as polyethylene plastic tube lures, offering advantages like zero pollution, protection of natural enemies, and precise monitoring, making it a prominent tool in integrated pest management.
