A moth of the Crambidae family. Multivoltine (multiple generations/year). Larvae feed on leaves, with 5-6 instars. Pupation occurs in leaf litter or silk cocoons. Adults are active at dusk.

Native to East Asia (China, Korea, Japan); invasive in Europe, North America, and parts of South America.
